CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Celecoxib, sulfonamides, aspirin and/or other NSAIDs. It is also not recommended for use in patients with/had a history of an ulcer in stomach/intestines, bleeding in stomach/intestines, blood circulation problems (such as peripheral arterial disease), red itchy welts, inflammatory disease of the intestines (such as ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s disease).
The medicine is also not indicted for use in patients suffering from lung problems (such as asthma), heart diseases (such as heart failure, recent heart attack, heart block), severe liver disease (such as advanced hepatic insufficiency) and/or kidney disease (such as advanced renal insufficiency).
Before taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, raised blood pressure, increased cholesterol, signs of fluid retention (such as swollen ankles and feet) and/or hyperkalemia (increased potassium level in blood).
CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women.
CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 17 years) to manage only juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE are high blood pressure, shortness of breath, sore throat, cough, headache, nausea and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
Common side effects of taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE:Stop taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following side effects occur: blurred vision, symptoms of nausea, severe headache, vision changes, symptoms of heart problems (such as chest pain or pressure).
Tell your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects are or become serious: fast/ irregular heartbeat, increased/ weight-related dizziness, symptoms of breathing problems.

LAS VEGAS, N. J. (AP) — A federal judge in Louisiana ordered the maker of the prescription drug Celebrex to stop using a nonprescription version of the arthritis drug to treat a rare genetic condition that can cause severe pain and stiffness.
Judge David A. Shafer of the Federal District Court in Las Vegas ordered the company to pay $3.4 million to the plaintiffs who have sued over its $2.1 billion settlement with the federal government.
“We’re pleased that we can continue to pursue this litigation because we have found that Celebrex is not a fair treatment for the serious pain and stiffness that is the hallmark of many arthritis patients,” said U. S. District Judge Rebecca Dole III. “I’m also pleased that our jury trial judge, Judge Gail G. Lechleiter, has ordered that the remaining plaintiffs still have a chance to receive a trial, and I am satisfied that this is still going on.”
Celebrex, a popular prescription painkiller, has been prescribed to millions of patients and is widely used to treat a range of ailments. However, patients who have been injured by Celebrex may still need to take it for ongoing pain, which can cause stiffness and a host of other issues.
The federal government and the state of Louisiana have a long history of using Celebrex to treat arthritis pain. In the 1990s, the government argued that Celebrex could only be prescribed to patients with symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and that it was not appropriate for such patients.
The government contended that Celebrex was safe and effective for such patients because the drug was effective in treating the pain, and that there were no significant safety problems with the drug.
In 2012, the government filed suit against the defendants claiming that Celebrex was not a fair treatment for the pain and stiffness associated with rheumatoid arthritis.
The plaintiffs said that the defendants were using the drugs to treat a different type of arthritis, and that they also had a history of using Celebrex to treat a similar condition.
The government argued that Celebrex should not have been used as a treatment for arthritis pain because it was not approved by the FDA to treat the condition, and that a drug that can be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, such as Celebrex, is also not FDA-approved for arthritis.
The plaintiffs said that Celebrex was not a treatment for arthritis pain and that they also had a history of using Celebrex to treat rheumatoid arthritis, and that they had tried to find an alternative treatment.

The case is currently in the Northern District of West Virginia, which is a state with its own drug regulatory authority.
In February, a Louisiana jury awarded $2.1 million to the federal government to resolve the case.
